The Awakening tells an exhilarating tale of the final days of Atlantis in this finely crafted page turner by Jodine Turner. Shaping characters, cities, forests, and houses in visionary detail (my favorite were the solar crystals used to take the ocean's chill out of the homes), Turner paints a vivid portrait of political deceit and power-hungry greed that leads to the fall of this formerly utopian society. The Goddess intervenes to come to the aid of a young girl, Geodran, destined to be a high priestess, and to assist her in birthing the new era of civilization for humankind. You will lose yourself in this book and become transported to an ancient, almost forgotten time and place, where very human struggles and triumphs unfold in very familiar ways.

Shadowy forces and complex motivations intertwine among the sisters of the abbey, the priestesses, and the purveyors of prophecy, and some surprising revelations occur. Rhianna undergoes many a test before she can find love and the fulfillment of her destiny. Turner knows how to weave a story, creating a world both mythical and real in which you'll find yourself completely and enchantingly immersed!
